Supply of moong has been disrupted in major suppliers Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, traders said. Also, erratic weather hit output in Rajasthan, the largest producer.

“The current availability of moong in Rajasthan has reduced due to a smaller crop.

The markets are open but there is no arrival,” said Prakash Birla, a trader from Nagaur district of Rajasthan.

In Nagaur, prices of top-quality whole moong rose 13% in the past two weeks to Rs 83/kg, leading to up to 20% increase in wholesale and retail prices.
