The move will help generate employment opportunities for the distressed rural population, besides ensuring availability of labour for agricultural work.
A senior government official said irrigation, water conservation and agriculture related works will be initially opened up while ensuring enough distancing between workers, who will be allowed in the field only with face masks. This could be followed up with individual-based construction activities such as individual toilets or houses.
