A couple of days back, Tomar had launched an all India agri transport call centre to facilitate interstate movement of perishables during lock down.
NEW DELHI: Union agriculture minister Narendra Singh Tomar, on Friday, launched transport aggregator mobile app- Kisan Rath – which will bring together 5 lakh trucks and 20,000 tractors on mobile platform for transporting farm produce to markets from farm gate.
“During lock down, farmers are finding it difficult to book tractors and trucks for transporting their produce. This app will help them bring their commodities to mandis and other market yards,” said a senior agriculture department official.
A couple of days back, Tomar had launched an all India agri transport call centre to facilitate interstate movement of perishables during lock down.
“Both these services will help farmers reach out to buyers and get competitive price for their produce. This mobility was needed to safeguard income of farmers,” the official said.
